Other than “Heart of the Matter” and “Last Worthless…” I could not stand this album. And I’m not saying I liked those two songs, I just don’t mind them. If I have to listen to them, I don’t writhe in ear pain, but I’ve never said, “Sweet Jesus, I gotta hear Heart of the Matter (or) Last Worthless Evening!”
I’ve never been a fan of Bruce Hornsby. Everyone around me was saying how great he was, and reading nothing but great reviews, and all I thought was…meh.
So, yeah, Bruce only brings more bland tedium to what is a generic middle-aged guy album of the ’80s.
